Senior Real Estate Portfolio Manager (Deputy Team Head)

Description

  • Oversee the Bank's real estate portfolio: Take charge of managing and supervising the Bank's real estate portfolio, ensuring its performance aligns with the organization's objectives and risk appetite.

  • Manage real estate transactions: Handle and oversee all real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and property management, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Monitor related risks: Implement effective risk monitoring strategies to identify and mitigate potential risks associated with the Bank's real estate portfolio, such as credit risk, market risk, and operational risk.

  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers: Work closely with Relationship Managers in the Global Banking and Corporate Banking divisions to identify and evaluate real estate financing opportunities, provide insights, and support their client relationships.

  • Compile portfolio reports: Prepare comprehensive reports on the Bank's real estate portfolio, highlighting key performance indicators, risk metrics, and portfolio trends for management and stakeholders.

  • Credit approval process: Possess a thorough understanding of the credit approval process for both origination and distribution of real estate financing, ensuring adherence to internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • Assess overseas property market: Stay updated on international property markets and trends, assessing opportunities and risks associated with investing in overseas real estate markets, and providing guidance to the Bank's investment strategies.

  • Construction loan experience: Demonstrate solid knowledge and experience in construction loan financing, including assessing construction risks, managing drawdowns, and monitoring progress to ensure successful completion of projects.

 

Profile

  • Greater China real estate financing experience: Have a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in real estate financing within the Greater China region, including a strong understanding of local market dynamics, regulations, and industry practices.

  • Overseas property market and new economy experience: Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the overseas property market, as well as a background in the new economy, such as technology-driven real estate sectors like proptech or proptech-enabled businesses.

  • Solid credit sense: Possess a strong credit sense and the ability to assess creditworthiness, evaluate risks, and make informed decisions regarding real estate financing, including construction loans.

  • Construction loan experience: Have hands-on experience in managing construction loans, including assessing the risks associated with construction projects, monitoring progress, and ensuring compliance with loan covenants.

  • Analytical and reporting skills: Exhibit strong analytical skills, with the ability to compile and present comprehensive reports on real estate portfolios, key performance indicators, and risk metrics, using appropriate tools and software.

  • Communication and collaboration: Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with Relationship Managers and other stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and promoting teamwork.

  • Regulatory knowledge: Stay updated on the regulatory landscape related to real estate financing and possess a thorough understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.

  • Professional qualifications: Hold relevant professional qualifications or certifications in real estate finance, risk management, or related fields, which may include certifications like Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Real Estate Finance and Investment (REFI).
