Engineer – Smart Maintenance (Ref: 240000QP)

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing and monitoring the overall implementation progress of the smart maintenance initiatives and co-ordinating with stakeholders to ensure the proper construction, installation, testing and commissioning, operations and maintenance readiness of the new system
• Participate in setup of new asset development projects for an Integrated Wheel Maintenance Centre 
• Support various Rolling Stock Workshops in transforming the maintenance workflow and workshop layout to facilitate the application of new technologies for realising the smart maintenance vision
• Conduct process optimisation reviews and develop fit-for-purpose smart maintenance technical solutions (e.g. automation / digitalization) for the train fleets to assure maintenance readiness to meet the safety management and asset management requirements
• Prepare functional requirement and particular specification, make recommendations, and evaluate synergy effect on automations and streamlining of maintenance process to enhance maintenance efficiency, productivity, safety and quality
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders in reviewing the contractor’s proposal and submission, witness testing and commissioning works, deal with the technical and logistical interface and liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure progress of works of smart maintenance projects 
• Provide support in on-site work coordination, communication and interface issues in Workshops, including contractors’ management, implementation schedule, resource planning and funding arrangement

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• A minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience, of which 2 years should be at supervisory level
• Solid experience in operating railway projects and knowledge of multi-disciplinary railway systems including robotics and automation system is preferred
• Self-motivated with good analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills, and able to work independently
• Proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua)

Remarks

• Candidates with lower qualification but extensive experience will also be considered
• Business travel to Mainland China and overseas is required
