Assistant Manager / Manager (Fire & Miscellaneous Department)

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree Holder in insurance discipline or with relevant professional qualification such as ANZIIF / ACII;
• 5 years' experience as underwriter, preferably in property insurance and employees’ compensation insurance within Hong Kong insurance market;
• Strong knowledge of insurance principles, underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirement;
• Analytical mindset with the ability to assess risks, interpret data and make sound underwriting decisions;
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to interact with brokers, agents and clients effectively;
• Detail-oriented approach with strong organizational and time management skills;
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment;
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office;

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate insurance applications, assess risks to determine appropriate coverage and premium rates for property insurance, employees’ compensation insurance and miscellaneous accident classes;
• Collaborate with brokers and agents to gather necessary information, clarify policy terms and negotiate terms and conditions;
• Make underwriting decisions based on established guidelines, risk assessment and explaining policy terms to clients and stakeholders;
• Assist customers and intermediaries by addressing inquiries, resolve issues and explain policy terms;
• Provide support to other company’s functions such as policy administration and claims to ensure their efficiency; and
• Maintain accurate underwriting records, documentations and reports for audits and compliance purpose.
