Pro-Act Training and Development Centre (Fashion Textiles)

Major Duties:
(a) To perform teaching duties including teaching relevant Fashion Design, Fashion Illustration and Pattern Making modules at sub-diploma level, student assessment, operating and maintaining training facilities and equipment to support teaching and learning;
(b) To supervise staff in conducting classroom teaching, practical training and trade test;
(c) To develop / review syllabi and teaching and learning packages, and assist in programme development and reviewing programme curricula;
(d) To carry out student and academic related administrative duties, such as timetabling, assessment schedules, admission, job placement and study guidance;
(e) To develop and maintain networks with the industry, related associations and professional bodies;
(f) To assist in staff management, resources allocation, budgeting, fund control and acquisition of training equipment / materials, and other related duties;
(g) To assist in implementing quality assurance policies including health and safety procedures for training activities; and
(h) To assist in coordinating / organising campus / departmental projects, special events and competitions such as open days, consultancy services, fashion show, fashion design competition, taster programmes, seminars and exhibitions.

Requirements:
(a) A recognised higher diploma in Fashion Design, or equivalent;
(b) At least 6 years’ work or teaching experience in the relevant industry;
(c) Strong commitment to serve the youth and with experience in managing less academically-inclined students;
(d) Preferably with experience in teaching sub-diploma courses;
(e) Good supervisory, communication and interpersonal skills, and good administrative abilities;
(f) Good language proficiency in English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua; and
(g) The ability to pass a trade test.

Notes:
(1) Candidates without the required academic qualification stated in (a) above but possessing 12 years’ work or teaching experience in the relevant industry may also apply. Where applicable, these candidates may be required to have a Qualifications Framework (QF) Level 3 qualification.
(2) Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
(3) The appointee may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and in designated places as assigned.
(4) In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Police Force, all prospective appointees will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process.
